This year we have once again applied our expertise to help make the Children's Hospital of Ontario's lottery home a huge success. We pride ourselves on being a locally owned business, dedicated to serving the community and this shows in our various charitable donations around the Ottawa area. Not only is the CHEO Dream of a Lifetime home a worthy cause for us, it also is one of the nicest theatres in town…
We really stepped it up this year with an automated home system that combines raw power with absolute simplicity for anyone to use. The home theatre portion utilizes the latest in automated technology from Control4. An on-screen graphic user interface (GUI) brings every function of the system to your fingertips with the press of a single button. In fact, our system even turns itself on in the mornings and shuts itself off at night! Couple that with lighting control, DVD storage, music server functionality and one of the most functional remotes in the world and Control4 reveals a simplicity and convenience that is unparalleled in the business. A large 106” Stewart Filmscreen mounted in a custom cabinet design seamlessly integrates a massive picture with invisible sound. The speakers are behind the grill cloth and in the ceiling!
Design art is also a large part of what we provided at the CHEO Dream home. Movie poster art in the large theatre, classic cinema lights welcoming visitors to the theatre lobby and even a popcorn maker put the little touches on this project that we have become known for.
Lastly, we finished several other rooms in the home with flat panel plasma and LCD televisions: above the fireplace in the great room, in the living room, and in the billiard/games room. A very unique feature of the Master Bedroom is a robotic arm that we have attached to the television. With a push of a button you can have the TV follow you around the room! Also, who can forget the LCD television in the theatre lobby which previews what is playing on the large screen inside? The 2007 Dream of a Lifetime home is a stellar example of the wide range of services that we can provide our trusting customers.

The Hidden Lake is a beautifully whimsical design which came together perfectly. Subdued blue tones and gentle lighting complement this theatre design featuring: raised rear seating, a powerful Paradigm speaker system with on-wall rear speakers and a huge Stewart Filmscreen. Contrasting with the passive blue tones in the room is a truly dominating Epson 1080p projector which provides the needed horsepower for the lifelike image at the front of the room. The “Barcelona” home theatre seating in this room from Jaymar offers a comfortable and functional solution for the owner and his guests to enjoy this amazing system. A full colour LCD custom remote control accesses equipment which is in an adjacent room through walls (because of its radio frequency design). Top it off with a brand new HDA30 High Definition DVD player and a Lutron automated lighting system and there is little left to be desired…
We also provided a beautiful pool table from Canada Billiards as well as the necessary accessories and not so necessary “Dogs Playing Billiards” art on the wall in the games room. We are all about doing it right at Signature Audio Video, and this is certainly a great case where we did just that.
*Another Just Basements partnership.

Signature Audio can certainly provide design expertise as well as a capable force of on-staff installers to get your project from blueprints to reality. In this case however, the customer felt comfortable and was capable in doing much of the design work himself. In this case we provided expert install teams to mount on-wall speakers, a large Stewart Filmscreen and an Epson Cinema 550 projector on the ceiling. We provided exactly what was necessary for this project and worked with the great skills that the customer already had to create a final project which speaks for itself.

Wow, what can we say about the Landark? Well, we can say that it incorporates top notch components and integrates them seamlessly into a marvelously designed home. The theatre features an incredibly powerful Anthem processor and 7.2 discrete high current amplification stack which is able to make the Paradigm speaker system sound the way they should. The speakers in the theatre show all three possible ways of adding sound into a room: (1) floor standing speakers in the front, (2) on-wall style speakers on the side walls, and (3) in-ceiling mounted speakers in the rear of the theatre. The 100” Firehawk Stewart Filmscreen compliments the Cinema 1080 Pro LCD projector which is artfully mounted on a custom bulkhead dropping from the ceiling. The room also incorporates two massive Velodyne 15” subs. That’s right: TWO 15” SUBS. When it comes to audio coverage, two subs are always better than one and in this case they provide some of the deepest and most earth shattering bass we have experienced at Signature Audio Video.
A brand new state of the art Pioneer Elite BlueRay player works effortlessly with a full Control4 custom automation system. A 300 disc Sony DVD changer works directly with the Control4 system to hold the customers library of regular DVD’s complete with on-screen access with box artwork. It has never been simpler to use a home audio-video system. The Control4 also taps into automated dimmer lighting and wireless WI-FI volume controls in various rooms around the house. All of the equipment for both the theatre and the home audio/video is located in a rack which is inset into the wall in the basement, which gets the equipment out of the way and provides a central area for all control and automation devices.
One of the coolest things about the Landark is the large 10.5” full colour Control4 wireless touch panel which controls everything in the theatre area as well as the other rooms in the house, from lighting to browsing descriptions of movies and even home security cameras. Picture this: You press one button on the touch panel and the projector powers up, amplifiers click on, the BlueRay starts playing, all the inputs on the devices are chosen correctly, and the lights dim. The whole process happens behind the scenes…
There are also several smaller Sharp LCD panels mounted in the bar area as well as in the fitness room, all of which are wired into the same TV feeds available in the theatre area and are controllable by the 10.5” LCD panel. Where ever the customer is in the home, they can enjoy high quality audio and video from Signature Audio Video.

This project integrates an astounding home theatre system into a picturesque rustic bar environment. In order to continue the great sound of the Paradigm Millennia on-wall reference speakers in the front we incorporated all of the rear speakers into the ceiling. They camouflage themselves extremely well since they are professionally spray painted to match the ceiling paint colour. They may be nearly invisible but they are indeed still reference quality speakers which produce amazing caliber sound. A heart-stopping 12” SPL subwoofer from Velodyne endows the theatre with rich and accurate bass that will shake your bones to their core. Custom Jaymar “Hollywood” home theatre seating finishes the room perfectly and continues the same country theme. This room embodies how we can provide custom furniture which can match literally any room layout and design.
A custom Home Theatre Master radio frequency remote control offers flexible and incredibly easy control of the wide array of equipment such as: a Pioneer Elite receiver and BlueRay player, and an APC H10 power conditioner, which is all contained in a custom A/V rack in-set into the wall. The Canyon Walk is a picture perfect example of where design meets sheer power with uncompromising quality.

This work in progress highlights how versatile we are in meeting your specific needs. We integrated a Sony wireless television into this home’s security system so now anything going on around the house can be monitored at the touch of a button. You can now switch from watching your favorite episode of Seinfield, to surfing the internet, to observing the safety of your home. And it’s all at your fingertips!
As you can see this job is still being completed but when it is finished, take it from us, this complete home audio/video install will open your mind to the unbounded possibilities that await you in finishing your home with the help of Signature AVU.

This project incorporated elements into several different rooms around the house but at the same time tied them all together into the main home system. In the main floor we provided a 20” Sharp LCD which we flush mounted into a swinging cabinet in order to get several viewing angles around the room. The theatre showcases an elegant simplicity that many customers demand with its on-wall style Paradigm speakers and full automated Control4 system. The brilliant Sony Pearl 1080p projector harmonizes with the 100” Stewart Filmscreen to make a picture second to none. You’ll never go to the theatre again when you own a system like this…
Once again, a Control4 10.5” full colour touch panel provides unparalleled control over the home theatre room complete with wireless light dimmers. Not only is there a 10.5” panel in the theatre, but also one in the bedroom (for control over the sound coming from in-ceiling speakers mounted above the bed), and one in the kitchen area for control over the LCD television and DVD system. Each of these areas in the house has access to the same base Control4 system which integrates the house into a full-functional whole instead of several fragmented systems. The Hinton shows what we can offer in terms of full home control and once again highlights the sophisticated styling that we can incorporate into your home.

The Reindeer is a system which has been a work in progress for several years now which has recently become a truly amazing finished product. Our designers worked with the customer from the very beginning to make a theatre that George Lucas would be jealous of. The high level of detail in this system makes it stand out as a remarkable theatre application. A full M&K on wall SS150 speaker system provides a reference quality THX 7.2 surround sound system. We even provided true THX rated speaker wiring to make sure the customer got the most out of his marvelous speaker set-up. Powering this speaker system is an Anthem MCA20 and MCA50 amplification stack coupled with a state of the art Anthem Statement D2 processor. It doesn’t get any better than this folks… Two rows of Jaymar “Barcelona” seating create a real theatre-like environment with room for the family and the in-laws on a special occasion (if they are invited…) An Epson Cinema 800 projector creates a huge 100” Stewart Filmscreen picture worthy of a Hollywood movie premier. Rounding out the package is a fully automated Home Theatre Master remote control and a Lutron Spacer automated lighting system. Perhaps this year Santa Claus will stay a little longer at the Reindeer household and enjoy a couple flicks before he gets on his way…

We created two incredible full-functional systems in this project. The theatre is comprised of a huge 92” G3 Stewart Filmscreen capable of showing the installed Epson 1080p capable projector in all of its amazing glory. Paradigm on wall Cinema 330 speakers along with in-ceiling rear speakers and a large 10” Velodyne SPL subwoofer create sound that matches the quality of the picture. A Control4 home theatre controller integrates all of the customer’s equipment including a 300 disc Sony DVD Changer, a Pioneer Elite VSX82TXS Receiver, and a Bell ExpressVu 9200 Personal Video Recorder. A customized Control4 remote control puts the power in the customer’s hand and makes any chosen activity incredibly simple to do with just a push of a button. All of the equipment is mounted in a Middle Atlantic rack system which we have provided.
The second room that we furnished in this home is actually adjacent to the theatre area. A 50” Panasonic plasma mounted flat to the wall with a slightly smaller set of Paradigm speakers creates a second home theatre environment. What is this area for you ask? Well, the kids can now enjoy watching their own movie while the parents take advantage of the large theatre at the same time. No more sitting through countless hours of Finding Nemo and Monster’s Inc. Unless you want to of course…

This project was the full meal deal. The entire house and outdoor environment was included in our design. This home actually incorporates three full home theatre environments! The large basement theatre was a complete Signature Audio Video design from start to finish. It features a large 100” Stewart Filmscreen with an Epson Cinema 800 LCD projector along with a beautiful two rows of Jaymar custom home theatre seating. For sounds we provided a full 7.1 Paradigm home theatre system complete with two sets of dipolar speakers in the rear for extended sound coverage. We also included twin subwoofers in this room to give it that extra “oomph!”. A custom in-set Middle Atlantic rack houses all of the equipment for the theatre at the side of the room.
The Great Room incorporates a full Bose Built Invisible home theatre system which creates a situation where the speakers are so discrete that they are…well… virtually invisible… A 50” Pioneer plasma television is mounted above the fireplace. To continue on the Bose theme we provided another full 5.1 theatre in the living room beside a wall mounted Panasonic plasma television, again, mounted above the fireplace. We also supplied smaller Panasonic LCD televisions for the gym and kitchen.
The amazing part of this project is the fact that we incorporated a full home Bose audio solution. For a total of 10 different rooms, we installed a mixture of in-ceiling and wall mounted speakers to integrate audio around the entire house. By utilizing Bose’s unique U-Music solution we were able to give seamless access to recorded music hard drives to all of these rooms around the house including multiple radio tuners. And we didn’t stop there… We provided some fantastic outdoor Bose speaker solutions as well. By the pool we employed the services of the Bose FS51 in-ground outdoor speakers. These green “mushroom shaped” speakers are ideal for pool environments. On the house we fastened some Bose 151SE outdoor speakers to provide sound to the deck area. Each of the sound zones in the house include a fully functional two way-communicating remote control to make sure you know what is playing and are able to control it properly. When all was said and done this project stands out as one of our more striking all-encompassing projects.

Are you aching for a large theatre screen but you
have a high ambient light environment? No problem, The
Emerald system shows how our custom installed projection
systems have overcome their light phobia. In utilizing our exclusive
“Signature Theatre Screen” and a high light output/high
contrast Epson Cinema 200+ projector you can enjoy our theatres
anytime of the day. Not only is this a theatre room, it also incorporates
a games room at the same time.
On the audio side of things, we used a Bose Built Invisible Lifestyle
audio system to run the home theatre system. Off of the same Bose
system we also introduced a 3 zone multi-room system to allow
different audio sources in different rooms. Now you can listen
to music in the bedroom while a movie is playing in the main room.
Finally, the other rooms in the house draw on the unique look
and functionality of in-wall/ceiling speakers (with paintable
grills) and on wall volume controls, integrating functionality
in a very subtle fashion. No longer do you have to see where the
audio is coming from, just sit back and enjoy!

This year's CHEO Dream of a Lifetime home is another example of our commitment to helping community charities. When asked to participate in the Children's Hospital of Ontario's lottery home, we did not hesitate in pulling all of our resources together in making our portion of this spectacular home a "want" for all that view it. From the simple looking yet technologically elaborate media room to flat panels in the master bedroom, gym and games room, the CHEO Dream of a Lifetime home is a worthwhile investment.

The Ruby is
a fantastic example of how we can work with you to integrate
many different areas of your home into a functional finished
product. In
the basement we installed a full custom home theatre including
a 100” Stewart Filmscreen coupled with a full high definition
Epson LCD projector for amazing image quality. The unique
feature of this theatre is how incredibly invisible the audio
system is. We incorporated a full in-ceiling Sonance Ellipse
7.1 speaker system which virtually disappears into the decor
of the room while still providing deep and accurate surround
sound. In order to ensure that this system is extremely
easy to use, we provided a custom remote solution which is able
to control both the home theatre as well as the theatre lighting
with the push of a button.
Throughout the house we installed audio
into the bar, the downstairs washroom, exercise room and even
in the sauna with great sounding Sonance in ceiling speakers. With
the help of a Sharp wireless television we made it possible
for the customer to watch any source available in the house
(TV, DVD etc.) anywhere in the home.
There truly is no place like home when it comes to The
Ruby…

This is an example of how we can work with you
from start to finish and help you create the perfect room for
your needs. In this case we worked hand in hand with the home
developer during the construction of this brand new house. If
you are thinking building a new home, don’t forget the Signature
AVU installers along with the plumbers and electricians.
What happens when you want a plasma television but you want to
go big? Solution: A colossal 55” Hitachi plasma screen wall-mounted
and integrated into your existing decor. This is a very
effective solution when there is ambient light in the room, such
as what was the case in The Tomar.
The audio system in the room disappears with the use of Bose Built
Invisible in-wall speakers and a Bose Lifestyle DVD system.
If the upstairs was impressive, check out the custom home theatre
install in the basement. A 100” Stewart Filmscreen coupled
with a barely visible Epson Cinema 500 projector make for the
ultimate home theatre experience. Notice how none of the equipment
such as DVD players and receivers are visible in the room. With
the help of our custom Home Theatre Master remotes operating on
radio frequency, your equipment can be hidden in a closet or in
another room entirely. The unsightly boxes that used to be necessary
in a home theatre are now a thing of the past, simply push one
button on the remote and you are up and running watching a movie
or television. Our systems are so simple to use that literally
anyone can operate them.

This pristine theatre concept shows how you can let us handle everything in your theatre, from audio video to furniture and lighting accents and control. From extraordinarily comfortable theatre seating by Jaymar furniture to powerful Denon audio components, we will think of everything so you don’t have to. A perfect room deserves a perfect theatre screen so we included a 92” Firehawk Stewart Filmscreen for the pinnacle in video performance. Thumping bass and unmatched sound clarity is no problem with the addition of Paradigm on-wall series speakers that virtually vanish into the overall style of the room. The Cypress is a supreme illustration of how not all basements are created equal. This room is truly a movie-lover’s paradise.

At Signature AVU, we pride ourselves on
being able to provide customers with exceptional quality in all
facets of their home. The Hartsmere reveals how we can provide you with many different products that
combine to create a beautiful and functional home. Starting with
the outside, we installed a pair of All Weather Bose 251 outdoor
speakers that can handle the roughest Canadian winter while providing
awe inspiring audio quality. Stepping inside, you can see how
the integration of a plasma television into custom millwork can
add that missing flair to your living room. This home theatre
incorporates a picture perfect 42” Hitachi plasma television
and the legendary audio quality of Miller and Kreisel (M&K)
speakers that are also integrated seamlessly to this incredible
room.
Taking the audio/video experience a step further, we provided
a 15” Sharp wireless LCD television in the kitchen. Now
you can walk around the house and even outside while not missing
a single second of the hockey game. It’s up to you where
you take it, but perhaps there should be a line drawn at the bathroom…

We integrated a Bose 3-2-1 Gemstone Lifestyle audio system to
the environment to ensure that the sound was just as good as the
top quality video. Now the stove is not the only thing that is
hot in this kitchen!
